Our program is designed to give the best possible child care around. Our goal is to make sure each child gets the special developmentally appropriate attention and proper care they deserve. Each child is treated equally with love and understanding. We make sure the children eat nutritious meals; we wipe noses, change diapers, read to them, give hugs, and take time out to listen and talk to them because communication is essential for their social development. We believe having an open dialogue with our children and parents is very important.
Discipline at Rubber Ducky is handled lightly. Children are given warnings such as stop kicking, stop hitting, no saying that bad word, or throwing objects. We give them alternatives for words and behavior. If the child continues we separate them from the situation and try to interest them in something else; discussing their actions and explaining how that action may upset or hurt them and the other children.
Rubber Ducky has always had an open door policy for parents to stop in and visit the children. We want all our children to feel loved, safe and cared for because we understand that this is their home away from home. We strive to have an atmosphere that is inviting to both the children and the parents. Furthermore we provide age appropriate materials and activities for the different stages of the children’s developmental growth.
Although we take each child’s developmental growth very seriously and professionally; we strive for each child to feel comfortable and relaxed in every situation. We want the children to have positive experiences daily. Our teachers are relaxed and Love to laugh and joke with the children. There is often music playing to dance to, and times where they sing songs that are positive and instructive in a fun way.
At Rubber Ducky the children will daily participate in what we call Circle Time. Circle Time is a set time during the day, usually right before lunch, where the teachers review and introduce colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and discuss the weather for the day. They will also perform finger plays and sing songs such as the ABC’s, and the number song. This proves to be a fun positive way to engage each child in a fun activity while learning.
Rubber Ducky is a strong believer in Projects, and Activities. We believe that children need music and art to grow and develop in a healthy way. Rubber Ducky provides many different, top of the line materials for the children to experiment with such as music equipment and tons of art products. We love to see their faces light up during a fun finger paint project or while playing with play dough. Projects and activities help the children to feel good about themselves therefore building their self-esteem. We want every child’s project to be unique and 100% their own; we never do the projects for them. It’s amazing to watch as each child develops overtime artistically, and creatively.
